Flexible Distance Education

At NCNZ we give all students the opportunity for self-directed learning. This brings with it a responsibility for students to work in partnership with the College and to be committed to studying to the best of their ability. The College is committed to keep up to date with activities within the natural health professions and to deliver a high standard of course study notes and information.

Students can choose to study either full time or part time, depending on their work and/or family commitments. This flexibility is a major draw card for our students, as it allows them to work at a pace that works for their lifestyle. If you select full time study you should expect to study about 30 - 40 hours per week and for part time 15-20 hours per week. The amount of time you spend in study depends upon previous study experience and newness of material to learn. It is not recommended that you work and study full time due to the practical requirements of some of our courses. Full time students who have attempted to both work and study struggle to gain practical hours and completion.

Distance education means exactly that, education from a distance. The courses are broken down into modules with each module containing a variety of units. Each unit consists of study notes and a written assessment. These units are studied and the written assessment completed and returned to the College for marking. The marking of units is done according to written guidance and an assessment is either marked as a competent or not competent. Marked assessments are returned to the student with constructive feedback to aid the student in the learning process. The education team are always available for advice and support.
