Entry criteria
For all certificate and diploma courses applicants must have completed Year 11 or equivalent secondary school education, must be at least aged 18 and be able to read, speak and comprehend English language (for international non-English speaking applicants: at level 6.5 IELTS).
To ensure you are able to receive electronic communications and updates from staff, it is compulsory for all students to have both an email address and access to this at least weekly in order to study with NCNZ.
Further requirements specific to each course can be found in the Courses section. Where it is identified by enrolment staff that further investigation is necessary into the suitability of the applicant and their ability to complete the course, details will be forwarded to the Education Manager and Director for assessment. This may involve further discussions with the applicant, face-to-face interviews and assessment of prior learning. The College reserves the right to make discretionary decisions on the suitability of applicants on a case-by-case basis.
Where numbers of prospective students exceed the number of places available, an application interview may be undertaken. This will consist of a 30-60 minute interview with selected members of the management and education teams. Criteria assessed will include:
- Previous study history
- Previous work history in the health industry
- Previous non-work history and related interest in the course subject material
- Evidenced availability of time and resources for study
- Evidence presented by references/referees
Please Note: Once the College has reached the number of enrolled students we are allocated to teach each year, enrolments will be closed.
