Introduction to Herbs
The history of Herbal Medicine is the history of all medicine, Herbalism being a core part of traditional healing systems throughout the world. Modern day Herbalism blends traditional understandings with the latest research into herbal therapeutics. This course is intended for the person seeking complementary and alternative ways to keep themselves and their family healthy, giving them the skills to treat day to day health complaints.
Course Outline
The Introduction to Herbs course covers the many aspects of herbs, including classification, identification, therapeutic action, medicinal uses, safety considerations, and instructions and recipes for making herbal preparations.
Subjects studied include:
- The Understanding of Herbs
- Therapeutic Actions
- Therapeutic use of Vitamins and Minerals
- Therapeutic use of Culinary Herbs
- Herbs for First Aid
- Herbs for Pregnancy
- Herbs for Babies
The course can be completed in whatever time span you require within a 12 month period.
Workshop Requirements
There is no exam or workshop associated with this paper. This course can be completed entirely via distance learning. You will be provided with a comprehensive set of study notes and be required to submit assessments for each module.

Fees
