National Diploma in Reflexology

(This qualification is subject to sufficient enrolment numbers).

Reflexology is an ancient healing art, with the oldest evidence of practice found in an Egyptian physician's tomb dating 2500BC-2330BC. It is based on the principle that reflex areas for the internal organs, endocrines and other body structures are found in the feet, hands and ears. These areas are arranged in such a way as to form a map of the whole body.

By working the feet, hands and ears it is possible to locate areas of the body that are out of balance. Pressure is applied to these reflex areas using specific finger and thumb massage technique to stimulate the body part. This stimulus initiates the body's healing systems in the correlating area, triggering the body to return to a state of balance.
